About Weird Reno
Think of Weird Reno as a fascinating host who brings interesting people together to witness and do fabulous things. It connects the dots between seemingly unconnected ideas and creates a shared experience as a result.
By gathering (safely) as a community, sharing in our common story, and participating in a bit of magic, Weird Reno guests will arrive at the end of their tour with a better understanding of who we are and where we live not only as residents, but also as fellow human beings.
That’s important because the history of Reno is the history of a city constantly reinventing itself. And as the world around us changes in profoundly beautiful ways and in dramatically unexpected ways, we too have to constantly reinvent ourselves. That’s especially true as the pandemic limited our ability to be out and among our friends, family, colleagues and neighbors.
That’s why Weird Reno is rallying to inject new life into the city and to bring the city back into the lives of its people. In the spring of 2021 Weird Reno opened for a limited free run before its official debut, so the Reno community itself could have a hand in co-creating a unique, recurring, outdoor special event. And well…the rest is history. Online reservations are required, and the tour operates weekly with seasonal breaks.

Weird Reno is about building connections to the places and people in our lives by discovering the magic in our pasts.
Unlike casinos, which offer an experience that hasn’t changed in decades, or pandemic options like a night at home with Netflix, which offers little interaction with others, Weird Reno is a fresh, live, outdoor and socially distanced experience with other people that will change with the seasons.
You can trust Weird Reno to be that host because it’s the creation of the same people who gave Reno its famous “Magic Underground” and illusionarium” productions, toured with “Carnival of Wonders,” produced “Before Your Very Eyes” in Atlantic City, and brought “The Illusionists: Turn of the Century” to Broadway.
As a result, you can count on Weird Reno to create new wonder for an old city.
Ultimately Weird Reno is about building connections to the places and people in our lives by discovering the magic in our pasts.
